  1. The lens should be cleaned with a 
  2. rigid contact lens cleaning 
  3. solution and rinsed with saline 
  4. solution.  The lens can be wetted 
  5. with a wetting or conditioning 
  6. solution but the majority of the 
  7. solution should be rinsed off with 
  8. saline.  If too much wetting or 
  9. conditioning solution is left on 
  10. the lens it can cause corneal 
  11. staining and discomfort.  If one 
  12. wants solution in the lens when 
  13. it is placed on the eye use saline.

  15. If one wishes to use fluorescein to evaluate the lens fit, fluorescein should be placed in the lens prior to placement.
